RAMALLAH, Palestine, Mar 5 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinians slammed Israeli army, after two Palestinians were killed and one injured earlier Monday, by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire, demanding holding Israel accountable.
The attack occurred in the village of Kafr Ni’ma, in the suburbs of the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The Palestinian health ministry said, the two killed were identified as, Amir Darraj and Yousef Anqawi, both 20.
The ministry said that, the Israeli forces took away the bodies and arrested another one after he was injured.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged an international probe into Israeli “crimes” against Palestinians, accusing Israel of “a deliberate extrajudicial hideous crime under false pretexts.”
“The continued field executions, wilful killing and ongoing collective punishment, reflect a serious undermining of international community and its organisations,” said Hanan Ashrawi, member of the Palestine Liberation Organisation Executive Committee, in a statement.
Ashrawi accused Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, of “continuing his criminal approach and working of turning the course of elections to his favour at the expense of the Palestinian people’s lives and their rights.”
Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, condemned the “hideous crime” and held Israel accountable for it, accusing the Israeli government of “using Palestinian blood as material for bargain, in Israeli electoral campaign.”
Eyewitnesses said, Israeli soldiers opened fire at three Palestinians in the village, killing two of them and wounding the third.
However, an Israeli army spokesman said, Israeli soldiers in the village were attacked by a car, as they stood to the side of the road outside the village.
He said that an Israeli army officer was critically wounded and another border police soldier was slightly injured.– NNN-WAFA
