Ibadan expressway
LAGOS, May 8 (NNN-AGENCIES) — A serious auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has claimed the lives of 14 passengers.
Three vehicles were said to be involved in the accident which happened on Thursday night.
The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed the incident, noting that three people survived with serious injuries.
More than 14 passengers have been burnt to death in the road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday night.
A local media reports that a commercial bus allegedly overtook a vehicle and in the process hit a stationed faulty vehicle parked in the middle of the road.
The bus was said to have lost control and somersaulted several times before bursting into flames.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), said 14 passengers were confirmed burnt to death in the tragic incident, adding that three were seriously injured.
He said TRACE operatives and other security agencies rushed two victims to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre and another to the General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos. — NNN-AGENCIES
