JAKARTA, May 5 (NNN-ANTARA) – A 5.7 magnitude quake, struck off North Maluku province, in eastern Indonesia earlier today, the meteorology and geophysics agency, said.
The quake hit at 05:59 a.m. this morning, Jakarta Time (2259 GMT Tuesday), with the epicentre at 48 km north-west Halmahera Barat district, and the depth at 133 km under the sea bed.
The jolt did not potentially trigger a tsunami.
The intensity of the quake was felt at III MMI (Modified Mercalli Intensity) in Manado, the provincial capital of nearby North Sulawesi province, in the central part of the country.– NNN-ANTARA
