Afghan Gov’t Builds Water Canal In Eastern Kapisa Province

KABUL, May 2 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, completed the construction of a water canal, in eastern Kapisa province, said a statement of the ministry here, yesterday.

With a length of 5.3 km and at a cost of three million afghani (one U.S. dollar equals 77.40 afghani), in Nawabad area, the water canal benefits 183 families, in the relatively peaceful province, the statement said.

The ministry said, it would continue to construct more water canals and water reservoir dams, to provide clean drinking water to farmers and facilitate them in irrigating more lands, the statement said.– NNN-XINHUA
