Singapore Reports 34 New COVID-19 Cases, One More Death

SINGAPORE, May 2 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH), reported 34 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 61,179.

Of the new cases, 25 are imported cases, seven are community cases, and two are linked with the dormitories of foreign workers.

Yesterday, 14 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 60,765 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, the ministry said.

There are currently 111 confirmed cases, who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Furthermore, 272 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well, but still test positive for COVID-19.

MOH said that, an 88-year-old female Singaporean, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection yesterday, bringing the death toll to 31.– NNN-CNA
