JAKARTA, May 1 (NNN-ANTARA) – The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 5,500 in the past 24 hours, to 1,668,368, with the death toll from the pandemic adding by 187 to 45,521, the Indonesian Health Ministry said, yesterday.
According to the ministry, 5,202 more patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries from the pandemic to 1,522,634.
The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.
Specifically, in the past 24 hours, West Java recorded 1,179 new confirmed cases, Jakarta 789, Riau Islands 521, Central Java 400 and East Java 316.
No new infections were reported in West Sulawesi province.– NNN-ANTARA
