MUMBAI, Apr 28 (NNN-PTI) – At least four patients died, at a private hospital in Mumbra, on the outskirts of India’s financial capital, Mumbai, after a fire broke out at 3:40 a.m. local time today.
According to local police, four patients died, while 20 other patients from the hospital were shifted to a nearby hospital, after the fire broke out.
Two fire engines and one rescue vehicle were at the spot. The fire had been brought under control and cooling operations were currently on, said a local police official.
Police are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire and probe is on.
India, which is in the midst of the second wave of COVID-19, has been witnessing several fatal fire accidents lately.
Last week, 13 patients died at a private COVID-19 care hospital, at Virar, 74 km north of Mumbai, following a fire, while another fire last month, at a hospital in Mumbai suburbs, saw nine deaths.– NNN-PTI
