Pakistani PM Expresses Solidarity With India As Pandemic Sets New Records

ISLAMABAD, Apr 25 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, yesterday expressed solidarity with India, as the COVID-19 pandemic sets new records of positive cases and deaths in India.

The prime minister, said on Twitter that, he wanted to express solidarity with the people of India, as they battle a dangerous wave of COVID-19.

“Our prayers for a speedy recovery go to all those suffering from the pandemic, in our neighborhood and the world,” said Khan, stressing, the world needs to fight the global challenge confronting humanity together.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on behalf of the people of Pakistan, also expressed support and sympathies to the affected families in India, where the pandemic is spreading fast.

“COVID-19 is yet another reminder that humanitarian issues require responses beyond political consideration. Pakistan continues to work with SAARC (The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries, to foster cooperation to tackle the pandemic,” said Qureshi.

According to the health ministry of India, the country witnessed historical high figures both in daily confirmed COVID-19 cases and new deaths yesterday, as 346,786 more infections and 2,624 deaths were reported. The total tally has reached 16,610,481 and the death toll increased to 189,544.– NNN-APP
