Sri Lankan President Invites More Businesses To Invest In His Country

COLOMBO, Apr 21 (NNN-SLNEWS) – Sri Lankan President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, yesterday invited more businesses to consider investing in his country, especially in the export-oriented industries.

In his video speech to the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021, held in Boao, south China’s Hainan Province, Rajapaksa said, Sri Lanka maintained a clear and vibrant foreign policy seeking enhanced cooperation with all friendly nations, and in particular, its Asian neighbours, on equal and non-aligned terms.

The president said, Sri Lanka is a peaceful and politically stable country that has taken multiple steps to enhance domestic governance to meet its goals under its development framework.

“We seek the contributions of our international partners, to aid this process… We have developed attractive policies for foreign direct investments, including a favourable tax structure and other incentives.”

Rajapaksa recognised the central role played by China in the Boao Forum for Asia, saying that, through centuries of rich history, Sri Lanka and China share a strong strategic cooperative partnership, based on mutual respect, trust and cooperation.– NNN-SLNEWS
