Bangladesh’s Daily COVID-19 Death Toll Surpasses 100 For 2nd Consecutive Day

DHAKA, Apr 18 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh recorded 101 more deaths from COVID-19 yesterday, the second day in a row that the daily toll surpassed 100, bringing the total fatalities to 10,283, according to the country’s Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

DGHS also reported 3,473 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, raising the total caseload to 715,252.

The official data showed that 16,185 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh.

The total number of recovered patients in the country stood at 608,815 including 5,907 new recoveries yesterday, said the DGHS.

According to the official data, the COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.44 percent and the current recovery rate is 85.12 percent.

Bangladesh earlier recorded the highest daily new cases of 7,626 on Apr 7, and the highest number of deaths of 101 on Apr 16.– NNN-BSS
