Israel Reports 300 New COVID-19 Cases, 833,707 In Total

JERUSALEM, Apr 3 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel’s Ministry of Health reported 300 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total confirmed tally to 833,707.

The death toll rose by two to 6,220, while the number of patients in serious condition decreased from 374 to 368, out of the 525 patients.

This is the lowest number of patients in serious condition in Israel since Dec 12, 2020, when it stood at 343.

The total recoveries in Israel rose to 820,906, with 262 newly recovered cases, while the number of active cases increased to 6,581.

The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 now stands at about 5.25 million, or 56.5 percent of its total population, after the vaccination campaign began on Dec 20, 2020.

The country’s COVID-19 reproduction number, also known as the R number, decreased from 0.64 to 0.61.

The R number is an indicator used to determine how fast the COVID-19 is spreading, as an R number greater than one means that the number of patients increases at an exponential rate and multiplies from time to time.– NNN-MA’AN
