Bangladesh To Start COVID-19 Vaccine Registration For Foreigners

DHAKA, Mar 9 (NNN-BSS) – The Bangladeshi government said, it will start registration of COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners, from Mar 17, according to a circular issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) yesterday.

Bangladesh has vaccinated nearly four million people, including front-liners, diplomats and those above 40 years, since Feb.

The country reported 845 new cases and 14 more deaths, in a daily count, the highest since Jan 13, the DGHS said, making the tally of COVID-19 cases at 551,175 and the death toll at 8,476.

It showed that 16,958 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovered patients stood at 504,120, including 1,117 new recoveries yesterday. The COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh was 1.54 percent and the recovery rate at 91.46 percent.

The number of cases has been increasing, when the government decided last week, to reopen educational institutions in phases, after offices, businesses and transport services were resumed.– NNN-BSS
