ISLAMABAD, Mar 8 (NNN-APP) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police, launched an operation early this morning, in Pakistan’s south-west district of Mastung and killed five terrorists, local media reported.
Local reports, quoting officials from the CTD, said that, the operation was conducted on an intelligence information, in Splinji area of Mastung, a district in the south-west province of Balochistan.
CTD personnel cordoned-off a hideout and asked the terrorists to surrender, but they opened fire at the raiding party, which led to a shootout, said the reports, adding that, five terrorists were killed on the spot, while some of their companions managed to slip away, taking advantage of the darkness.
The killed terrorists were working on a plot, to launch attacks in the provincial capital Quetta. Police recovered heavy explosives, detonators, automatic weapons, live rounds and remote-controlled devices and others, from their possession.
The terrorists were involved in attacks against labourers and personnel of the law enforcement agencies, according to the reports.– NNN-APP
