ISLAMABAD, Mar 6 (NNN-APP) – A landmine blast in Sibi district of Pakistan’s south-west Balochistan province, killed five people and left five others injured last night, local media reported.
Deputy Commissioner of the district, Yasir Khan Bazai, told local media that, a vehicle carrying labourers, hit a landmine in the Babar Kach area of the district.
Rescue teams and security forces rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital.
“Four labourers lost their lives on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries in a hospital,” said the official, adding that, the other wounded persons were in stable condition.
The official said, some unknown miscreants planted the landmine on the roadside, and it blasted with a big bang, when the vehicle passed over it.
Security forces have launched an operation in the surrounding areas, said the reports.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.– NNN-APP
