TAMBO GRAANDE (Piura region, Peru), March 3 (NNN-ANDINA) — President Martin Vizcarra said 60 bridges will be built between Piura and Tumbes regions to improve connectivity in northern Peru, especially during the rainy season.
He recalled that 18 bridges began construction stage in 2018. This year a second group of such projects —that should be completed by 2020— will be bid.
Vizcarra said one of them will be built over the San Francisco stream, in Tambo Grande. The area has been flooded and left Malingas population center’s citizens isolated.
This structure will be 300 m long, and the corresponding investment will be worth S/70 million (around US$21.18 million).
“(…) The bridge will be completed by 2020 and will have special features to face this problem,” he said during a work inspection.
The tender for this bridge will begin in April. The awardee will be in charge of developing the technical dossier during the remainder of the year.
This was President Vizcarra’s first action after having returned from a State visit to Spain and Portugal. — NNN-ANDINA
