MUMBAI, Feb 21 (NNN-PTI) – Mumbai sealed over 1,300 buildings in the city, as per new guidelines, after a surge in COVID-19 cases continued in the Indian financial capital yesterday, a civic official said.
As per the new guidelines issued earlier this week, buildings with over five COVID-19 patients will be sealed in the city.
Mumbai’s civic authority, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), last night reported 571 fresh cases, taking the total number of active cases in the city to 6,900.
India’s financial capital has seen a continuous rise in fresh cases over the past 10 days, though the city’s civic authority has ruled down a complete lockdown and has opted for area specific restrictions, which will be reviewed by the administration tomorrow, the official said.– NNN-PTI
