NEW DELHI, Feb 20 (NNN-PTI) – India yesterday launched its indigenously developed Helina and Dhruvastra anti-tank missiles, from the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) platform, in a test.
“Joint user trials for Helina (army version) and Dhruvastra (air force version) missile systems, designed and developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), were carried out from ALH platform in desert ranges,” a statement issued by the DRDO said.
The DRDO also released a video of the trial on its social media platform.
Local media reports said, the trial used India’s ALH Dhruv helicopter and was carried out in the northern state of Rajasthan.
Officials said, the anti-tank missiles have demonstrated their capabilities in a series of user trials and that they are set to be ordered soon, by India’s army and air force for their combat choppers.– NNN-PTI
