RAMALLAH, March 1 (NNN-WAFA) – Two days of heavy rain blocked several main roads in Palestine as a result of flooding and caused serious damage to property, according to the Palestinian civil defense department.
Main roads between Ramallah and Jerusalem were closed as well as roads in the north, south, east and west of the country as a result of flooding as civil defense crews attempted to help commuters get their cars out of water pools.
Small landslides were also reported on some areas, particularly in Jerusalem were residents of Silwan neighborhood reported homes flooded and retaining walls collapsing. Many expressed fear of collapse of their homes as a result of underground Israeli excavations.
