NEW DELHI, Feb 16 (NNN-PTI) – Chief Minister of India’s western state of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, yesterday tested positive for COVID-19.
He tested positive for COVID-19, after being hospitalised due to collapsing on stage on Sunday, when addressing a rally held in the Vadodara city.
“The ECG, 2D echo and blood tests of the Chief Minister were normal last night (Sunday). An RT-PCR test was conducted and its report yesterday morning, showed he tested positive for COVID-19,” Dr R K Patel, director of the state-run U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre hospital said, in a health bulletin issued to local media.
Officials said Rupani’s condition was reported to be stable.
According to Indian health ministry’s report yesterday morning, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in India has risen to 10,916,589 with 155,732 deaths.– NNN-PTI
