Israel’s COVID-19 Cases Surpass 700,000

JERUSALEM, Feb 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – The total number of COVID-19 cases in Israel rose to 700,479 yesterday, with 3,951 new cases added since Monday evening, the state’s Ministry of Health said.

The death toll reached 5,192, while the number of patients in serious condition decreased to 1,088, out of 1,710 hospitalised patients.

Total recoveries rose to 625,167, while active cases increased to 70,120.

According to the ministry, the number of people vaccinated surpassed 3.54 million, or 38.1 percent of its total population, since the vaccination campaign began on Dec 20, 2020.

Also yesterday, the Israeli Employment Service said, the number of new unemployed people in Israel, since the start of the third full lockdown on Dec 27, 2020, has reached 180,471.

On Sunday, Israel began to lift COVID-19-related restrictions, but schools and kindergartens have remained closed, and outgoing and incoming flights are still banned.– NNN-XINHUA
