Israel Reports 7,237 New COVID-19 Cases, 674,453 In Total

JERUSALEM, Feb 5 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel’s Ministry of Health reported 7,237 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, raising the total tally in the country to 674,453.

The death toll from the COVID-19 reached 4,993, after 65 new fatalities were added, while the number of patients in serious condition decreased from 1,104 to 1,098, out of 1,686 hospitalised patients.

Total recoveries rose to 589,708, with 420 newly recovered cases, while active cases increased to 79,752.

The number of people vaccinated against the COVID-19 has surpassed 3.34 million, or 35.9 percent of the total population, since the vaccination campaign began on Dec 20, 2020.

Earlier yesterday, the Israeli Employment Service said, the number of new unemployed people in Israel, since the start of the ongoing full lockdown on Dec 27, has reached 173,474, of whom about 70,000 are education, sales and service workers.– NNN-MA’AN
