ISTANBUL, Jan 31 (NNN-ANADOLU) – The Turkish security forces, launched an operation against bootleg alcohol producers in Istanbul, the Gendarmerie General Command announced yesterday.
The gendarmerie units raided a suspicious trailer truck on a highway, and confiscated 10,000 litres of smuggled ethyl alcohol, the command said in a statement.
Video footage released by the command showed the forces neutralising the driver and seizing ethyl alcohols inside boxes, hidden in the truck bed.
As part of the operation, the forces also stopped a van on the route and seized 3,000 litres of fake liquor, the statement added.
During the raids, two people were reportedly detained for producing fake drinks.– NNN-ANADOLU
