JERUSALEM, Jan 30 (NNN-MA’AN) – An explosion occurred close to the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, India yesterday, Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
According to a statement by the ministry, there were no casualties reported.
Israeli media reported the device was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, spoke to his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, after the explosion.
“The Indian Foreign Minister vowed…to act resolutely to find all those involved in the explosion,” read the statement from Jerusalem.
“We take this very seriously. The matter is under investigation and no effort will be spared to find the culprits,” Jaishankar posted, on his Twitter account.
A statement issued by the office of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said, the national security advisers of both countries spoke on the ongoing investigation.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu is fully confident that the Indian authorities will complete the investigation and guarantee the safety of Israelis and Jews there,” said the statement.
No organisation has taken responsibility yet for the attack yesterday.– NNN-MA’AN
