Fuel Prices See All-Time High In India

NEW DELHI, Jan 24 (NNN-PTI) – Petrol and diesel prices touched an all-time high in India, after rates were increased yesterday, for the fourth time this week alone, according to local media.

According to a price notification from oil marketing companies, petrol and diesel prices increased by 0.25 Indian rupee (around 0.003 U.S. dollar) per litre, yesterday.

With this, petrol became dearer to 85.70 Indian rupees (around 1.17 U.S. dollars) per litre, and diesel became dearer to 75.88 Indian rupees (around 1.03 U.S. dollars) per litre, in Delhi.

In financial capital Mumbai, petrol is now available at 92.28 Indian rupees (around 1.26 U.S. dollars) per litre, and diesel is available at 82.66 Indian rupees (around 1.13 U.S. dollars) per litre.

Yesterday was the second consecutive day of rate increase, and the fourth this week. In all, prices have gone up by around one Indian rupee per litre, this week.– NNN-PTI
