Jordan Reports 883 New COVID-19 Cases, 316,427 In Total

AMMAN, Jan 20 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan yesterday reported 883 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the caseload to 316,427, the government announced.

It reported 17 new deaths, raising Jordan’s death toll to 4,170, according to a joint statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The cases comprised 408 in Amman, 188 in Irbid, including 47 in Ramtha district, 62 in Zarqa, 49 in Jerash, 47 in Mafraq, 45 in Balqa, 25 in Ajloun, 19 in Madaba, 15 in Karak, 14 in Tafileh and 11 in Aqaba, while no cases were reported in Maan, according to the statement.

The statement added that there are currently 10,364 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.

A total of 69 patients were admitted to hospitals yesterday, taking the number of patients currently receiving care in hospitals to 440, the statement said.

The statement added that, 1,553 recoveries were registered yesterday, bringing the total number of recoveries in Jordan to 301,893.– NNN-PETRA
