NEW DELHI, Jan 2 (NNN-PTI) – India will resume as many as 15 flights per week to Britain, from Jan 8, the country’s Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced, yesterday.
The flights to and from Britain are under suspension until Jan 7, amid the detection of several cases of the new COVID-19 strain in India.
According to Puri, the country’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), will soon issue details of resumption of flights between the two countries.
“It has been decided that flights between India & U.K. will resume from Jan 8. Operations till Jan 23 will be restricted to 15 flights per week each, for carriers of the two countries to & from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru & Hyderabad only. DGCA will issue the details shortly.”
Originally India banned flights to and from Britain from Dec 23-31, and subsequently extended the ban for another week.– NNN-PTI
