Two Die In Factory Gas Leak In Northern India

NEW DELHI, Dec 23 (NNN-PTI) – At least two people died and 15 others injured, after Ammonia gas leaked from a fertiliser manufacturing plant, in India’s northern Uttar Pradesh state, a local police official said today.

The incident occurred late last night, at the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in Uttar Pradesh’s Phulpur district.

The two people who died are said to be senior officials of the IFFCO plant.

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital. Two of the injured are said to be in serious condition.

“Those injured lost consciousness and are suffering from breathing problems,” the police added.– NNN-PTI
