Myanmar Resumes Operation Of Domestic Flights

YANGON, Dec 17 (NNN-XINHUA) – Domestic flights, stopped due to COVID-19 pandemic, resumed its operation yesterday, deputy minister for the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Kyaw Myo, said.

The Ministry of Health and Sports, said, all airlines must abide by the SOP (standard operating procedures), as well as, passengers must undergo health check, before taking the flight and they must be quarantined depending on the places they are going.

“According to the Civil Aviation Authority, not all flights are allowed to various destinations.

The Ministry of Health and Sports said, although the number of infected people is on the rise, people are in need of travelling for their social lives, and for economic purposes. As the government has instructed us to resume domestic flights, we have allowed domestic flights. We will do our best for convenient travelling,” said Kyaw Myo.

At present, Myanmar Airways will resume their flights among the five airlines in Myanmar, which are Air KBZ, Air Thanlwin, Mann Yadanarpon and Golden Myanmar. The flights’ destinations will be Nay Pyi Taw, Loikaw, Myitkyina, Heho, Myeik, Kawthaung, Puta O, Dawei, Thandwe, and Sittwe.

International flights, which have been grounded since Mar 29, are currently suspended till the end of the year.– NNN-XINHUA
