Myanmar’s COVID-19 Cases Increase To 109,512, Deaths Reach 2,292

YANGON, Dec 15 (NNN-MNA) – The number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar increased to 109,512 as of yesterday, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

A total of 1,170 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the country.

The death toll reached 2,292 with 24 new deaths yesterday, in the country, the release said.

According to the ministry’s figures, a total of 88,131 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 1.45 million samples have been tested so far.

Myanmar is trying to get the COVID-19 vaccine for 40 percent of its people in 2021, Soe Lwin Nyein, chairman of National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) said yesterday.

The application forms for getting the vaccine were already submitted to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, on Dec 7, he added.– NNN-MNA
