DHAKA, Dec 15 (NNN-XINHUA) – Another 250-kg wartime bomb was found yesterday, at the construction site of Bangladesh’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, said the Defence Ministry’s Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) department.
The department said that, workers found the cylinder-shaped general-purpose (GP) bomb, buried about 3.05 metres deep, when excavating for building the third terminal of the airport yesterday morning.
It said, a bomb disposal unit from the Bangladeshi Air Force defused the bomb, which was later sent for demolition.
Earlier this month, workers found a bomb of the same kind at the same construction site.
Like the first one, the ISPR said, experts identified the bomb as an air-dropped bomb and believed it was also dropped sometime in 1971.– NNN-XINHUA
