Large Haul Of Narcotics Seized In Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 12 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani authorities seized a large haul of narcotics in the Arabian Sea, off the country’s shores yesterday, officials said.

The operation was jointly conducted by the Pakistan Navy and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), a statement issued by the directorate of public relations of Pakistan Navy said.

Nearly 300 kg of narcotics, including crystal methamphetamine were recovered, according to the statement. However, the officials did not mention whether any arrest was made during the operation.

The approximate value of the drugs in the international market is 1.8 billion Pakistani rupees (approximately 11.2 million U.S. dollars). The seized drugs were handed over to the ANF for further legal proceedings, said the statement.

The successful execution of joint anti-narcotics operation is a demonstration of the Pakistan Navy’s resolve to counter illegal activities in the maritime zones of the country, and promote maritime security in the region, the statement added.– NNN-APP
