Singapore Reports One Locally Transmitted COVID-19 Case, Seven Imported Cases

SINGAPORE, Dec 12 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported one locally transmitted case of COVID-19 and seven imported cases, bringing the total cases to 58,305.

According to the press release from the Ministry of Health, the new local case lives in a dormitory and was detected through proactive surveillance. All his close contacts at the dormitory and his workplace have been placed on quarantine.

The seven imported cases have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival.

Four more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,192 have fully recovered from the infection.

There are currently 29 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 55 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive.
