India’s COVID-19 Tally Reaches 9,677,203, With 32,981 New Cases

NEW DELHI, Dec 7 (NNN-UNI) – India’s COVID-19 tally reached 9,677,203 today, as 32,981 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, according to the latest data from the federal health ministry.

According to the data, the death toll mounted to 140,573, as 391 more patients died since yesterday.

Delhi has been one of the most COVID-affected places in the country. As many as 2,706 daily cases and 69 deaths were registered in the national capital.

There are 396,729 active cases in the country, while 9,139,901 people have been discharged, so far, from hospitals, after medical treatment, added the data.

Meanwhile, the federal government ramped up COVID-19 testing facilities across the country. Till Sunday a total of 147,787,656 tests had been conducted, out of which 801,081 tests were conducted yesterday alone, said the figures, released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) today.

Due to the continued spell of COVID-19 pandemic, the country’s Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) decided to continue the suspension of international flights till the end of the year.– NNN-UNI
