TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, Feb 24 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Air strikes against Taliban fighters in Afghanistan’s southern province of Uruzgan, left 12 militants dead, an army statement released here Sunday said.
The fighting aircraft, according to the statement, pounded Taliban hideouts in Kotwal area, outside the provincial capital, Tirin Kot and Deh Rawad district, on Saturday evening, killing a total of 12 insurgents in the sorties.
Taliban militants, who are active in parts of the restive province, haven’t commented on the incident yet.– NNN-AGENCIES
