SANAA, Nov 30 (NNN-SABA) – Yemen’s Houthi rebels said that, they fired a rocket towards a government military training camp, in neighbouring province of Marib last night, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.
“The rocket targeted the operations room in the Tadawin camp, in northern Marib, killing at least eight soldiers and injuring seven others,” the television quoted a statement from the group’s military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, as saying.
There was no confirmation yet from the government, which controls the country’s oil-rich Marib, about 173 km east of the Houthi-held capital, Sanaa.
Yemen has been mired in civil war since late 2014, when the Houthi militia seized control of several northern provinces and forced the internationally-recognised government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi out of Sanaa.
The war has since killed tens of thousands of people, displaced nearly four million and pushed the country to the brink of famine.– NNN-SABA
