India’s COVID-19 Tally Reaches 9,351,109

NEW DELHI, Nov 28 (NNN-PTI) – India’s COVID-19 tally reached 9,351,109 today, as 41,322 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, the latest data from the federal health ministry, showed.

According to the data, the death toll mounted to 136,200 with 485 new deaths since yesterday morning.

There are still 454,940 active cases, while 8,759,969 have been discharged so far, from hospitals, after medical treatment, added the ministry’s latest data.

Delhi’s Health Minister, Satyendra Jain, on Thursday said that, schools in Delhi would remain shut, until a vaccine is available to ensure the safety of the students.

The federal government has been ramping up COVID-19 testing facilities across the country. Till yesterday a total of 137,062,749 tests were conducted, out of which 1,131,204 tests were conducted yesterday alone, said the figures released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) today.

The country’s Director General of Civil Aviation, decided to continue the suspension of international flights till the year-end, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with chief ministers of all states, via video-conferencing, to review the status and preparedness of COVID-19 response and management, with a special emphasis on eight high-focus states.

The high-focus states are Haryana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal.– NNN-PTI
