KANDAHAR, Nov 26 (NNN-AGENCIES) – At least 15 people were wounded, in a car bomb explosion, outside a police station in Kandahar, capital of Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, a provincial source, said.
“The incident occurred roughly at 10:30 a.m. local time, yesterday, when a terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle to the entrance of police station District 11, and the explosion caused panic and destruction,” a city security source, said.
The police station, located in Dwahom Hino Mina, was severely damaged in the attack, he said, adding that, the wounded were transported by ambulances and police vehicles to a regional hospital.
The wounded included 11 police officers and four civilians.
“The force of the blast smashed windowpanes and glasses of buildings nearby,” the source said.
In the meantime, Jamal Barakzai, spokesman of provincial police department, said that, six people were wounded in the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, so far. Over the past months, big Afghan cities witnessed a spate of terror attacks by the Taliban insurgents and the Daesh group.– NNN-AGENCIES
