RIYADH, Nov 24 (NNN-SPA) – The Saudi Ministry of Energy said, a terrorist attack yesterday, caused a fire in a fuel tank, in the north of the port city of Jeddah.
At 3:50 a.m. local time (1250 GMT), a projectile created an explosion and caused the fuel tank fire, at the petroleum distribution terminal, the ministry said.
The fire had been put out with no casualties reported, the statement added, noting, Saudi Aramco’s fuel supplies were not affected.
Acts of terrorism and sabotage against vital installations, including the recent attack near the floating offloading platform in Jizan, and previous attacks on oil installations in Abqaiq and Khurais, target the security and stability of global energy supplies, as well as, the global economy, the ministry warned.
Meanwhile, Turki Al Maliki, spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition, involved in a war in Yemen, accused Yemen’s Houthi rebels of being behind the attack.– NNN-SPA
