BAGHDAD, Nov 24 (NNN-NINA) – The Iraqi Health Ministry reported on Monday 2,136 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total nationwide infections to 537,457.
The ministry also reported 38 new deaths and 2,202 more recovered cases in the country, raising the death toll to 11,996, and the total recoveries to 467,654.
A total of 3,293,010 tests were carried out across the country, since the outbreak of the disease in Feb, with 24,908 done during the day, according to the statement.
The ministry attributed the increase of COVID-19 infections to the public’s failure to comply with health instructions, and to a stronger testing capacity, with the increase of labs in Baghdad and other provinces.
Iraq has taken a series of measures to contain the pandemic since Feb, when the first case appeared in the country.– NNN-NINA
