NEW DELHI, Nov 23 (Bernama) — India will host the G20 summit for the first time in 2023 after Indonesia’s presidency of the group in 2022.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 15th G20 meeting on Nov 21-22 convened by Saudi Arabia online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We thank Saudi Arabia for hosting a successful Riyadh Summit and its contribution to the G20 process. We look forward to our next meetings in Italy in 2021, Indonesia in 2022, India in 2023 and Brazil in 2024,” the G20 declaration said on Sunday.
India was earlier scheduled to hold the meeting of the group representing the world’s top 20 economies in 2022, according to the communique issued at the 2019 summit in Japan.
