ISLAMABAD, Nov 23 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani military said yesterday that, four terrorists were killed, in the country’s northwest tribal district of North Waziristan.
A statement from the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations, said, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation, on a terrorist hideout near Kaitu River, north-west of Spinwam, in North Waziristan, killing four terrorists.
“As soon as the troops cordoned the area, the terrorists opened fire, to flee from the area. However, all were killed by security forces,” the statement said.
During intense exchange of fire, a soldier was killed while two others injured, according to the statement.
Pakistani military conducted a series of operations against terrorist groups in North Waziristan, bordering Afghanistan.
Although the area has mostly been pacified, remnants of terrorist groups still manage to launch attacks on the security forces sporadically.– NNN-APP
