Cambodia Bans State-Organised Events In Capital, Neighbour Province To Prevent Second Wave Of COVID-19

PHNOM PENH, Nov 12 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodia, yesterday, banned all state-organised events and meetings, in the capital Phnom Penh and neighbouring Kandal province for two weeks, in a bid to prevent the second wave of COVID-19 infections.

In a letter sent to Phnom Penh municipal and Kandal provincial governors, Prak Sam Oeun, director-general of the Interior Ministry’s general administration department, said, all events and meetings that gather many participants must be suspended, saying that the two regions are at high risks of transmitting the virus into communities.

On Sunday, the country also shut down all schools in Phnom Penh and Kandal province for two weeks, and all museums, cinemas, karaoke parlours, and entertainment clubs nationwide, until further notice.– NNN-AKP
